Vanke City

The 143㎡ three-bedroom apartment was transformed into a 234㎡ four-bedroom apartment in seconds after the renovation. This 91㎡ of “overwhelming wealth” caught me off guard!

Original Plan

There were several serious problems when I first arrived at the house:

  1. The basic structure of the house in the old community was poor, and the previous tenant used the space for office work and did not properly maintain it, resulting in serious water leakage in the house;
  2. The original structure had poor indoor lighting and ventilation conditions;
  3. The house originally had three rooms, which did not meet the living needs of a two-child family, three generations living together, and the space requirements of an independent study;
  4. There was an excess of garden space, the indoor space was compact, and the bedrooms were scattered, which was not convenient for children to pay attention to and accompany them during their growth.
Floor Plan

Back to design, design is empathy, which requires understanding and discovering the other party’s current and potential needs and emotions; of course, empathy alone is not enough, designers also need a broad vision and a unique aesthetic perspective, as well as the ability to cope with challenges, in order to turn the ideas in our minds into reality.

Client Story

Let me tell you the story of this house. In August 2022, the owner found us through a friend’s recommendation. The first time we met, the hostess was in the second trimester of pregnancy. It was not until June of the following year that we met again, when the hostess had just finished her confinement. The two sides briefly communicated about their general ideas and thoughts, and they were very compatible, so they started the journey of reconstruction.

Tips

Different from an exquisite nest, this house is more like a day divided into 24 hours. Imagine what relationship we will have with it in the space during the day, and how each other will create a scene of three generations living under one roof; one morning and one afternoon, winter The warm sunshine and summer breeze became the background for our design ideas. Rethinking thermal insulation, heat insulation, energy consumption, ventilation, lighting, materials, convenience from the perspective of comfort, as well as thinking about long-term living in the future make the space truly three-dimensional.

Material and Detail

In terms of style, the owner and I quickly reached a consensus; we longed for this space to reflect our current state of mind. In the complicated and busy urban life, we seek inner comfort, and nature has magical power, every day and every day The change of seasons can bring solace to the soul.

Therefore, the idea of developing the design is to first solve the rigid problems left over from the original architectural history, and then sort out the space without defining the style and not being limited in space; breaking down the wall barriers and making the entire space more convenient and interesting. ;

Traffic Flow

It is no exaggeration to say that the practicality of space depends on the planning of traffic flow, and the design method of barrier-free migratory traffic flow makes the stereotyped space interesting and flexible.

Coupled with the clever combination of large-area glass and sliding doors, ventilation and lighting problems are solved.

The entrance is a multi-functional area that is intentionally set up to prepare for all uncertainties in the present and the future; it can be a parent-child space, tea space, fitness space and leisure and entertainment space, enriching the home experience; coupled with the combination of traffic flow and glass, you can be a good father while typing code.

Courtyard

The joy of having a yard is obvious to all. Someone once said, “The things that can last in a person are acquired in his youth,” which means that childhood is of vital importance in one’s life; and nature is all-encompassing and is the best classroom for exploration and discovery.

Multifunction Area

In addition to the intentional multifunctional area, there are also design techniques such as framed scenery and borrowed scenery to make the space more interesting, vivid and layered; the designer’s “little tricks” are hidden everywhere in the house;

Where does the designer’s sense of happiness come from? Of course, it is to see his own ideas come to fruition, accompanied by everyone’s unanimous cheers!

The client originally paid the design fee for other places and then chose us;

Still; “other people’s houses are really beautiful”, “the most beautiful house in the entire community”, “the most reasonable house in the entire community”, no regrets;
