After getting the original drawings, we found that the structure was much worse than we thought. This was a high-end residential area in 2010. The wall structure of the original apartment was load-bearing except for one side. This means that the multiple spaces we planned at the beginning were restricted by these immovable walls. When the structure cannot be changed, we can only make feasible modifications to the original structure, while respecting the original structure and adding some more flexible elements.

• The overall entrance space has a large visual extension space.
• The original air conditioner position was converted into a storage space.
• The master bedroom was converted into a suite.
• The dining area was converted into a dining island combined with a western kitchen.
• We cannot predict future changes, so the designer deliberately created a flexible space in this limited space.

The owner of this house is a big fan of Tadao Ando. The house is full of Tadao Ando, ​​world architecture and Chinese cultural relics from 5,000 years ago, which reflect the owner’s living conditions and spiritual realm, and strongly feel the owner’s advanced taste.

The owner is a senior executive of a foreign company and has a French bulldog. In this high-pressure and impetuous environment, it is urgent to find a place to store your “honesty”!

As soon as you enter the door, you will feel the airiness and brightness. The traditional entrance design is abandoned, and this design makes it look particularly large.

After getting off work, it was already evening when I got home. I opened the door with fatigue and saw the busy traffic outside the French window, and I immediately felt at ease.

• The living room uses a large area of ​​white space to create a harmonious harmony with the wood color;
• The design of the suspended TV background wall cleverly uses the connection between the stainless steel treatment and the balcony solid wall, making the entire large white background wall not monotonous at all;
• The platform that echoes the TV background also hides a mystery. The simple appearance is a tool for storing various wires and charger heads that will destroy the entire picture;
• The living room and the living balcony cleverly use the three-sliding door Changhong glass. When guests suddenly come to the house, the basic daily life will not affect the beauty of the entire space and perfectly protect privacy!
• The sofa uses the Italian Baxter special-shaped sofa, which adds fun and softness to the entire rigid space. The proportion of the entire living room at a glance is perfect;
• The owner said: “On weekends, I just want to nestle in the soft sofa”, where you can bathe in the sun and watch the sunset!

• The same space accommodates two relatively independent and integrated kitchens, namely the “heavy-taste” Chinese food and the “petty-bourgeois” western kitchen!
• The island counter and dining table are customized as one. This is not only a restaurant, but also cleverly integrates all the functions required for a western kitchen;
• The steamer, oven, coffee machine, water purifier, wine cabinet and cup washer are hidden here;
• The original air conditioner position next to the wine cabinet is the home of hidden mops and other sundries. The designer is really creative and uses the space to the extreme without wasting a penny.
• The independent Chinese food satisfies the “heavy-taste” cooking method of Hunan people. The customized skin-feel cabinet door is matched with high-end gentleman gray, which is full of high-end feeling!
• The “little trick” from the designer is hidden here. You can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city at night from the large floor-to-ceiling window at the end of the kitchen, and you can also feel the full view of the Xiangjiang River; when the fireworks are set off at the head of Orange Island, you can feel the gorgeous fireworks blooming with your loved one. This is a unique romance for two people!

• In order to make the bed look suspended, the bed and bedside tables in the master bedroom are customized. The entire space is left blank to give the spirit more space to rest and imagine. The moment of lying on the bed should be relaxed and unrestrained.
• The bedside cement lamp, wood veneer, wardrobe, floor, and black vents all play their roles in polishing this space, making the entire space no longer monotonous;
• When the sun shines through the white gauze on the body and quilt, it is the most gentle touch!
• The area of ​​the cloakroom is enough to accommodate beautiful skins all year round;
• The original bay window and air conditioner position are removed to make enough space for the multi-functional table, which can be used as a dressing table or a desk.

• In the face of the ever-changing world, where plans cannot keep up with the changes, this is the flexible space carefully designed by the designer for the owner.
• The flexible space can be used for many things, such as yoga, fitness, meditation, and a parent-child space for our future baby;

• Both bathrooms are made of Basatina limestone, which is simple and natural, and the natural texture of the rock is integrated with the wood color.
• The smart sensor mirror creates an atmosphere for the entire space; the electric towel rack, shower, toilet, and squat toilet are all hidden, making the entire surface more harmonious and unified.

Books are the nourishment of the world. Life without books is like life without sunshine; wisdom without books is like a bird without wings.

Q: How long did the renovation process take?

The design cycle was about one month, and the construction was completed in nearly 4 months. It took some time to wait for customization!

Q: What attracted you most in the initial design plan?

I liked it from the moment I moved in, and it also took into account the combination of Chinese and Western kitchens, the flexible space and air conditioning unit position for storage, etc.! I like to drink coffee, and the cup washer carefully selected by the designer is very convenient;

I will live with my parents after marriage in the future, and the independent Chinese kitchen design is in line with my parents’ cooking habits;

I compared some studios at that time, and Mr. Deng’s draft design of the entrance and flexible space attracted me at once. I like an orderly and clean life. The designer said at the time: “We cannot predict future changes in life, but we can preset them in advance”; the designer also said: “When there are children in the future, toys will not be scattered in the living room. When drinking and chatting about life with girlfriends, you can explore the world in the parent-child space. The little cutie; when there are guests at home during the New Year and holidays, this usually invisible bed can play its function”; the designer said these at the time and I was moved;

I had never heard of using the air conditioner position as a utility room at first. The area saved at random saves me trouble and money!

Q: Was there a designer’s idea that was difficult to accept at first, but I was quite satisfied with it in the end?

It took a lot of time in the early design, and I discussed with the designer until the early morning several times! After the construction, I basically didn’t care, and everything was checked by the designer!

Q: After living here for a while, what is the most satisfying space?

I haven’t moved in yet, but I live here occasionally. Except for the small capacity of the refrigerator I bought at that time, I am very satisfied with everything else!

Q: How would a friend describe your home?

When a friend walks in, he says the house is very big, especially at night, when you can see the night view outside, and the original wood color is very warm, so comfortable. This is also where the designer insisted on canceling the traditional entrance shoe cabinet! After moving in, everyone said that the designer must have spent a lot of time and thought, saying that I have great taste. In fact, I spent more than 500,000 yuan in total, but my friends said that more than 800,000 yuan would be believed by many people! The minimalist sense of luxury is created!

Q: Give some advice to the owner who is preparing to decorate his new home?

This is my second decoration experience. From rough draft to real completion, everything is a learning process. The key is to understand your own life, tell the designer your real needs, reduce the cognitive error in communication, and the design that follows the function can be both durable and practical.

Find a reliable designer, be sure to look at the designer’s real-life cases, and try to cooperate with the designer, after all, designers are professionals in many aspects!

If you want your home to have style, you still have to find a professional team. Spending some design fees will be much more convenient in the future. I decorated my previous house by myself, and there were many loopholes! This time it feels completely different!
